Cinnamon bun workshop with a local
Baking cinnamon buns with heart
In this Swedish baking class, we knead, roll, and laugh our way using my very own recipe – one born from trial, error, and a deep love for truly delicious cinnamon buns.
Only top-quality ingredients go into my dough: organic Swedish flour, Norrbotten milk and butter, Swedish sugar, and cinnamon of the highest grade. No shortcuts. Just time, flavor, and aromas that linger.
Once we’ve baked the first tray, we sit down to enjoy your very first cinnamon bun, fresh from the oven, together with a cup of coffee, tea, or fruit cordial made from local berries. When the cookies fill the air with their scent and the coffee gently bubbles, a song sometimes rises – a folk tune or a melody I’ve written myself.
In Gammelstad Church Town – a UNESCO World Heritage site - or in my home kitchen just 1 km from central Luleå, ideal if you prefer a location close to city life or public transport.

Swedish Fika with a local
The Swedish tradition of seven kinds of cookies
Welcome to a Swedish fika experience beyond the ordinary,
where the scent of butter, stories, and baked joy fill the room.
There are several ways to share a moment of fika with me in Luleå.
You can roll up your sleeves and join a hands-on baking session where end up trying seven traditional Swedish cookies – like chokladbollar and bondkakor, as well as a few of my personal favorites from growing up on a farm in the north.
While the dough rests, we pause for a simple Swedish lunch with pickled herring, potatoes, eggs, and homemade flatbread. As the cookies cool and the coffee begins to simmer, a song might gently unfold – sometimes an old folk tune, sometimes one of my own.
If you’d rather skip the baking, you’re welcome to come just for fika – with freshly baked cookies, kanelbullar, and something seasonal, served with warm drinks and real conversation about everyday Swedish life,
nature, and culture.
During December & January, I also offer a special Lucia edition, with candlelight, saffron buns, ginger bread and classic Christmas treats.
I’ll sing a few Lucia and Christmas songs and share the stories behind one of Sweden’s most cherished traditions.
The Swedish Fika take place in the historical Gammelstads Kyrkby (Church Town) – a UNESCO World Heritage site, in "the Yellow House".
The experience can be booked by solo travelers or groups up to 15 persons. Duration and price vary depending on the format – just get in touch and I’ll be happy to find something that suits you.

Duration: 1 to 4 hours depending on the experience.
Pricing varies depending on the format, from a full baking workshop to a simple fika or a
Lucia edition with songs.

Traditional Soft Flatbread
Baked with fire, songs & stories
Step inside a northern bagarstuga – a rustic village bakehouse where the wood-fired oven glows and the scent of warm bread fills the air. Here, we gather around the baking table just as people have done for generations.
Baking soft flatbread (mjuk tunnbröd) isn’t just about the result – it’s about rhythm, memory, and connection. The dough is shaped with care, the fire tended with patience, and the stories shared over flour-dusted hands make each bread something more than food.
Whether you’re curious to try your hand at rolling, or simply want to taste warm bread straight from the oven with butter and cheese, this is a down-to-earth experience full of local flavor.
You’re welcome to bake with me in a traditional bagarstuga near Luleå – possibly in the UNESCO-listed Gammelstad Church Town, or in a nearby village.

The person behind
NORRKLANG
My name is Anna Sellén.
I’m a singer, educator, and the founder of Norrklang.
My roots run deep in the north of Sweden – in its stories, songs, traditions, and the surrounding forest.
Since childhood I have also loved baking. Some of my warmest memories are tied to the smell of my mother’s and my aunts’ kitchens, and the joy of sharing cookies with family and friends. Over the years, I’ve chosen a few of the best and most beloved recipes – and now I invite you to bake them together with me.

But the forest hasn’t always felt like home.
It took time to understand what it had to offer me. A slow unlearning – after years of stress – when I realized that change wouldn’t come unless I lived differently.
That’s how Norrklang came to life.
An invitation to reclaim something many of us have lost:The chance to slow down
To breathe more deeply
To return to a more natural rhythm – something sustainable beyond productivity.
I believe rest is not something we must earn. We don’t need to prove our worth to deserve a pause. Often, restlessness is simply the body’s call for rest.

Through Norrklang, I create experiences where nature, voice, story, tradition – and baking – meet.
A space to soften, to let go,
and to share meaningful moments together.

The forest will do its work.
I’m just here to open up the path.
