Forest & Stillness

Inspired by Swedish traditions, forest bathing, and the quiet rest of a hammock, these small-scale forest experiences invite you to awaken your senses, gather by the fire, and rest in sound and story.

Do like the locals – make a fire, grill a sausage or toast a sandwich, sip hot chocolate or boiled coffee, and let the sounds and colors of the forest bring you closer to nature – and to yourself.

Choose what suits you best:
A family-friendly forest walk with stories and playful nature moments,
or a still, restorative pause beneath the whispering trees.

Fika & Folk songs

From cinnamon bun workshops to seven kinds of cookies and fika with a local – this is fika the way it’s meant to be: warm, personal, and full of flavor.

Rooted in Swedish traditions and local hospitality, each gathering invites you to bake, share stories, and enjoy the scent of something fresh from the oven.

From delicate cookies to soft flatbread baked in a traditional wood-fired oven, the baking is as much about presence and process as it is about taste.

Choose between hands-on baking, cozy fika with a local, or a seasonal Lucia edition with songs and saffron buns – each moment offers a true taste of Sweden.

Traditions & Celebrations

Swedish culture - season by season

Swedish traditions are deeply rooted in both storytelling and the shifting of the seasons – from the light-filled joy of midsummer to the quiet reflection of winter.

Food, music, and folklore come together in ways that speak to the heart – whether it’s saffron buns at Lucia, fermented herring in August, or tales passed down through generations.

These cultural moments invite connection beyond words.

In this section, you'll find experiences that celebrate the soul of Swedish heritage:

  • Lucia gatherings with live vocals, candlelight, saffron buns, and warm glögg.

  • Bedtime stories under the stars – inspired by Astrid Lindgren, vagabonds, and tales of wild-hearted bandits.

  • Songs for life’s meaningful occasions – from gentle melodies for babies to farewell music shared at funerals.

These aren’t staged performances. They’re living traditions – shared from person to person, voice to voice.

The person behind

NORRKLANG

My name is Anna Sellén.
I’m a singer, educator, and the founder of Norrklang.
My roots run deep in the north of Sweden – in its stories, songs, traditions, and the surrounding forest.

Since childhood I have also loved baking. Some of my warmest memories are tied to the smell of my mother’s and my aunts’ kitchens, and the joy of sharing cookies with family and friends. Over the years, I’ve chosen a few of the best and most beloved recipes – and now I invite you to bake them together with me.

But the forest hasn’t always felt like home.
It took time to understand what it had to offer me. A slow unlearning – after years of stress – when I realized that change wouldn’t come unless I lived differently.

That’s how Norrklang came to life.
An invitation to reclaim something many of us have lost:

The chance to slow down.
To breathe more deeply.
To return to a more natural rhythm – something sustainable beyond productivity.

I believe rest is not something we must earn. We don’t need to prove our worth to deserve a pause. Often, restlessness is simply the body’s call for rest.

Through Norrklang, I create experiences where nature, voice, story, tradition – and baking – meet.

A space to soften, to let go,

and to share meaningful moments together.

The forest will do its work.
I’m just here to open up the path.
